![]() Took our brand new Vango Edoras 600 airbeam to France last year, was fine until the night before we left we came back to the tent after a day out to find a deflated airbeam, temperature was probably about 30 degrees in the daytime. If in doubt contact your brand dealer or the manufacturers. The technology, materials and valve designs have undergone rigorous testing and are a far cry from the first designs on the market. We too have the Vango Capri Airbeam 500, and have used it in extremely high temperatures in Italy. Adhere to the pressure guidance provided by the manufacturers. The latest generation airbeam tents are much improved. Outfit: VANGO-CAPRI 500 Airbeam (2018) Location: Wonderful Rural Yorkshire Message posted by BobCat10 via mobile at 6:49pm I remember Igloos being around from when I first went camping with my parents in the early 60's - not sure why Vango advertise Airbeams as "latest and most innovative technology". We wodered what on earth a dog had to do with it - found out years later this was a phrase used in rugby for the scrum collapsing. "La cabine est tombee sur le chien" he kept repeating with a broad grin on his face. Belonged to the wifes sister - and caused some amusement to the old chap who was the "groundsman" at the Azay le Rideau municipal when it deflated and collapsed. In 1987 we spent our honeymoon in France in the original "airbeam technology" - don't know if anyone remembers the old igloo tent you inflated with a footpump. The margin of error on the recommended pressure (and indeed the pressure gauge) is likely to be much greater. 12C to 30C is a change from 285K to 303K, which would only result in a 6% increase in pressure - unlikely to be a problem. Pressure is proportional to absolute temperature (in degrees Kelvin). I've heard many bike tyres explode in triathlon transition areas & seen the ensuing panicked look in everyone's eyes as they check out their own bike. Unless you pump up your tent at 0830 when it's 12C & temperature then creeps up to 30C. The pressure would only alter if you transported tent inflated between those 2 temps.įor a suggested route you need to state Spanish destination. 30psi on the gauge at 30deg ambient is same as at 18deg ambient. This won't help the OP, but other newbies may take heed. We had no choice but to pack up and come home, we have phoned camping shop to inform them, partner also called Monday to say about earlier problems, the camp shop was least helpful and is saying we are not entitled to refund and they have never heard of such problems :( Obviously we want to get sorted as still have a week left to salvage but unless they refund us we wont be able to go anywhere, tent outfit cost us £1100. When we went back to tent this morning, carpet was very wet in several places so were airbed clothes etc. But the big problem came last night when it rained heavily and we found the tent not to be waterproof, we have rain come in from every panel on roof, through window seams, through front door, we found 30 points where water was coming in, at 11pm last night the site allowed us to sleep in an empty caravan as we were so cold and wet. First of all the side beam over rain door would not stay inflated so couldn't use door, tent carpet was 3 pieces of different shades grey material sewn together with all sorts stains on it. purchased this tent from DW camping 10 days ago, we left Sat morning for pentewan sands cornwall for 2 weeks, unfortunately for us we are home today after 5 nights as had major problems with tent.
